5 things to know
Here’s your quick morning update on news in the sign industry:
1. The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) has partnered with North American Publishing Co. (NAPCO) Media to launch a new trade show for the industry, Print United, which will replace the SGIA Expo starting in 2019.
2. Toronto-based software developer L Squared was named Canada Post’s national digital signage vendor earlier this year and has since deployed individual displays and video walls at more than 400 retail locations across the country, including several new concept stores.
3. Two Canadian out-of-home (OOH) campaigns were among the winners at last month’s Clio Awards in New York, N.Y. The annual program honours innovation and creative excellence in advertising, design and communication.
4. Ottawa-based UTG Digital Media has provided a mobile device charging station and standup displays for the city’s Canadian Museum of Nature (CMN), each featuring digital signage with wayfinding, exhibit and event information.
5. The economic development department for Ontario’s Wellington County unveiled the first sign in its new ‘This Way to Wellington’ plan earlier this month in Puslinch, near Guelph, Ont. A total of 31 gateway signs are to be installed this fall along the county’s key perimeter roads.
