Here’s your quick morning update on news in the sign industry:

1. In what is reportedly the world’s largest public art project of its kind, Aude Moreau used the lit and unlit windows of the top 10 floors of the Toronto-Dominion (TD) Centre’s five office towers as a sign, spelling out ‘Less is more or …’ in 30.5-m (100-ft) tall letters earlier this month.

2. Out-of-home (OOH) advertising firm Pattison Outdoor recently set up a ‘park oasis’ at a bus shelter in uptown Saint John, N.B., as part of a new Tourism New Brunswick campaign titled, ‘Getting Away Is Closer Than You Think.’

3. Lettrage Boisvert, a graphic arts company in Repentigny, Que., that specializes in car wraps, has installed a 1.6-m (64-in.) wide HP Latex 570 roll-to-roll (RTR) digital printer, provided by distributor Cansel.

4. Worldwide digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising revenue is on pace to grow by 13 per cent this year, to a projected US$13.4 billion, according to new data from market research and analytics firm PQ Media.

5. Sunwing, a vacation travel provider, recently opened a ‘pop-up’ store in Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre with a column-mounted feature video wall, smaller display clusters and interactive touch screens.
