Mural at Ontario clinic seeks to comfort sexual assault survivors

The clinic provides critical, round-the-clock, specialized care and confidential follow-up support for individuals of all ages and genders who have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence, or human trafficking.
Miranda Andrews was chosen as the commissioned artist for the mural following a public call for submissions. The installation of the mural is part of CKHA’s commitment to creating a therapeutic and dignified environment for survivors.
Services offered by the Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Treatment Centre include medical treatment, emotional support, documentation of medical findings, photographic documentation of injuries, risk assessment, safety planning, and referral to essential community agencies.
Tara Greenway, Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Team Lead at CKHA, said in a press release, “Miranda’s mural is more than just art; it is a piece of healing that transforms our space. It provides a visual reminder of hope, tranquility, and resilience, which is essential for the survivors who come through our doors, offering them comfort and dignity as they begin their journey toward recovery.”
