1. One of the fastest-growing markets for digital signage is the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry, with a mix of customer-facing dynamic menus, touch-screen kiosks, drive-thru boards, window displays and infotainment screens.

2. To promote 20th Century Fox’s new movie The Greatest Showman, Branded Cities filled a concourse of Toronto’s Union Station with an out-of-home (OOH) activation, blending digital OOH (DOOH) advertising with live acts by circus performers.

3. As Canada’s economy continues to grow, companies that produce signs, graphics and related visual communications media are on pace to benefit in the year ahead.

4. Toronto-based commercial printing company CJ Graphics has installed two Jeti ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) light-emitting diode (LED) wide-format printers—a Tauro H2500 and a Ceres RTR3200—manufactured by Agfa Graphics in Mississauga, Ont.

5. Retail remains the largest end-user group for transparent digital signage, according to a new report from market research firm Technavio, which predicts the technology will experience a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 29 per cent from 2017 to 2021.
