1. Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square, well-known for being surrounded by large-scale digital signage, is now set to be upgraded by Outfront Media Canada with seven on-site screens of its own, to be controlled by city council.

2. The Canadian Out-of-Home Measurement Bureau (COMB) and the Out-of-Home Marketing Association of Canada (OMAC) have congratulated the first graduates of their new out-of-home (OOH) certification program.

3. Advanced, an audiovisual (AV) system design and installation company headquartered in Mississauga, Ont., renovated CNN studio with two new Leyard video walls in time for coverage of the recent U.S. presidential election.

4. Global OOH advertising revenues increased by an estimated 6.2 per cent in 2016 to more than $49 billion U.S., representing the fastest rate of growth in nine years, according to new data from market research firm PQ Media.

5. Montreal-based iGotcha Media has installed a turnkey digital signage network at 96 Nissan Canada dealerships, providing everything from screens with built-in media players to tailor-made on-screen content and management software.
