Here’s your quick morning update on news in the sign industry:

1. Following a series of stakeholder workshops and surveys, Toronto-based Entro is conducting a feasibility study for a new, unified pedestrian wayfinding signage system in the Ottawa-Gatineau area.

2. A 279-m2 (3,000-sf) Signarama centre opened last month in Saint-Laurent, Que., marking the signmaking franchise system’s first location on the island of Montreal, which will also serve as its demo centre for the province.

3. NanoLumens, which manufactures light-emitting diode (LED) arrays in a variety of sizes, shapes and curvatures, has installed 10 displays at Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, Toronto’s Pearson International Airport and Vancouver International Airport. (Apr. 20 web feature)

4. This year’s five-day Printeriors showcase will again use the style of a hotel to show print service providers (PSPs), signmakers, architects and other professionals how they can use printing technologies for cost-effective interior decor applications.

5. Captivate, which operates digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising screens in office towers’ lobbies and elevators, is expanding its footprint to Ottawa, with agreements for six towers across the city.
