5 things to know
Here’s your quick morning update on news in the sign industry:
1. Advanced, an audiovisual (AV) system design and installation company headquartered in Mississauga, Ont., designed, built and installed a plasma display video wall for Your Morning, which recently replaced Canada AM on CTV.
2. Greater Vancouver’s Tsawwassen Mills, which opened last fall, is the biggest shopping centre built anywhere in Canada since 2009. As such, a comprehensive wayfinding system is necessary to help customers navigate the mall.
3. Astral Out-of-Home is promoting Ikea Canada’s seasonal Market Hall product lines with a new transit shelter poster on Toronto’s King Street West that warms up whenever someone stands in front of it.
4. Having rebranded just over a year ago, polymer material manufacturer Covestro needed to update the directional and wayfinding signage at its North American sites, which gave it an opportunity to showcase how its own products can be used.
5. ‘Guard with Balloon Dog,’ a stencil attributed to the famous, anonymous British street artist Banksy, has been preserved, restored and unveiled within Toronto’s Path pedestrian walkway network.
