Here’s your quick morning update on news in the sign industry:

1. The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) recognized the winners of its 2017 Vehicle Graphics Design Awards last month, during its annual general meeting (AGM) and conference in Niagara Falls, Ont.

2. Out-of-home (OOH) advertising firm Pattison Outdoor and its digital signage division, Onestop, supported this year’s We Day Canada in Ottawa with ads on buses, digital billboards and screens in office towers and residential buildings.

3. Canada’s Cineplex Digital Media (CDM) has won two of the Interactive Customer Experience (ICX) Association’s 2017 Elevate Awards, which recognize projects for creativity, innovation and imagination.

4. Axyz International, which has manufactured computer numerical control (CNC) routers since 1994 at a facility in Burlington, Ont., recently announced delivery of its milestone 6,000th machine.

5. Municipal officials with the town of Canmore, Alta., announced they will be cracking down on inappropriate and illegal signage throughout the community this summer.
