5 things to know

Here’s your quick morning update on news in the sign industry:

1. More than 60 companies across North America are participating in this year’s fifth annual Sign Manufacturing Day, including 16 in Canada, up from just seven in 2016.

2. Advanced, a digital signage integrator headquartered in Mississauga, Ont., has designed and installed a Prysm Visual Workplace display system for Barrick, a global mining company headquartered in Toronto.

3. Imprimerie Élite in Saint-Remi, Que., has added to its fleet of inkjet printers with the installation of a new 1.6-m (64-in.) wide Mutoh ValueJet 1638X eco-solvent presses, provided by national distributor Cansel.

4. Out-of-home (OOH) advertising firm Outfront Media Canada partnered with Toronto’s Design Exchange to support its Expo for Design Innovation and Technology (EDIT), which ran from Sept. 28 to Oct. 8.

5. Capital Networks has been working with the municipal government of Sudbury, Ont., since 2014 to help co-ordinate its digital signage strategy to reach both city staff and citizens across multiple venues.
