Here’s your quick morning update on news in the sign industry:

1. Toronto’s Humber River Hospital (HRH) has installed a 22-screen video wall to display analytics in what it calls Canada’s first hospital command centre, built in collaboration with General Electric Healthcare (GEHC). 

2. Screenguild Signs in Aldergrove, B.C., has installed SAi’s subscription-based Flexi signmaking software on four of its computers, including three for design work and one for the production department, where it drives two print-and-cut machines.

3. The global value of the large-format printer market is forecast to experience a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of four per cent, according to research firm MarketsandMarkets, rising from nearly US$8.4 billion in 2017 to nearly US$10.6 billion in 2023.

4. Beauty product retailer L’Occitane en Provence has redesigned its flagship boutique in Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre with a 1.8 x 5.5-m (6 x 18-ft) curved video wall and two suspended ‘digital capsules’ that combine imagery, light, sound and scent.

5. Xpression Num.Eric, which digitally prints large-format trade show and exhibition graphics in Mascouche, Que., has installed a new 1.7-m (65-in.) wide Seal 65 Pro MD laminator, provided by GBC Canada.
