Siggraph brings emerging display technologies to Vancouver

28 June 2018

[1]Siggraph, an annual educational event showcasing computer graphics and interactive applications, is coming to Vancouver this summer with juried selections of emerging technologies, including some with implications for digital signage.

Among the selections are FairLift, which allows interaction with mid-air images on water surfaces (pictured); a spherical full-parallax light-field display, which would allow digital signage content to appear to hover in space; and a Simulative Emotional Expression Robot (SEER), which uses a camera sensor to help replicate a user’s movements, gazes and facial expressions.

The 45th Siggraph conference will be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre (VCC) from Aug. 12 to 16. For more information, visit s2018.siggraph.org/attend/vancouver[2].
