Portable digital displays arrive for Calgary Stampede
This year’s Calgary Stampede will feature two new NanoSlim high-definition (HD) light-emitting diode (LED) displays in the Agrium Western Event Centre at Stampede Park. Suspended from a beam, they can be moved to various locations within the venue.
Manufactured by NanoLumens, the 6-mm pixel pitch displays have been tested at Stampede Park during conventions and expos over the past few months, in anticipation of July’s Stampede. Events services manager Mark Muench explains they have drawn compliments for their graphics’ brightness, visibility and vividness.
“We’ve had the chance to run them alongside a projector and screen,” he says. “There was no comparison!”
During the Stampede, the displays will help ensure arena crowds catch every moment of the show, delivering a mix of live video, programmed information and graphics.
