Here’s your quick afternoon update on news in the sign industry:
1. The International Sign Association (ISA) has named the three winners of its 2018 Innovation Awards, as selected from among 54 entries by a panel of industry experts. They will be showcased at this month’s International Sign Expo.
2. Toronto-based Entro has designed new interior and exterior signage for Winnipeg’s Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) Convention Centre, following an expansion that nearly doubled its size to accommodate an increasing number of events.
3. A 1,858-m2 (20,000-sf) banner advertising Pepsi, digitally printed by Remarkable Media, was towed behind a helicopter above this year’s Super Bowl football championship game in Minneapolis, Minn.
4. A new marketing affiliation, Pharmacy Media Network (PMN), is aggregating a place-based digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising network throughout more than 900 pharmacies across Canada, comprising screens in prescription waiting areas.
5. The Toronto Transit Commission’s (TTC’s) March 2018 Metropass features an image of a prominent street mural painted by Jose Ortega in 2007 for the city’s Dundas West Business Improvement Area (BIA).
