Here’s your quick morning update on news in the sign industry:
1. The sign, graphics and visual communications industry is poised for continued above-average growth in 2018, according to the latest quarterly economic report commissioned by the International Sign Association (ISA).
2. Out-of-home (OOH) advertising firm Branded Cities Canada has signed an exclusive sales and marketing agreement that adds Signpatico’s network of more than 250 digital signs in Western Canada to its inventory.
3. The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) is currently accepting applications for its annual scholarship program. With the support of donations from endowment investors and industry leaders, the 2018 program will award US$2,000 to each of 15 students.
4. Eastward Sales, which prints short-term signage, technical blueprints and other applications in Saint John, N.B., recently installed a Vortex 4200 wide-format colour inkjet printer, supplied by The Drafting Clinic Canada.
5. Richard Ventura, vice-president (VP) of strategy for digital screen manufacturer NEC Display Solutions, has been elected to serve a second consecutive term as chair of the Digital Signage Federation’s (DSF’s) board of directors.
