1. Sport Chek, a Canadian retailer known for its extensive use of in-store digital signage, has opened its first women’s-only location at Cadillac Fairview’s (CF’s) Chinook Centre in Calgary.
2. The International Sign Association (ISA) has named three products the top winners of its 2017 International Sign Expo Innovation Awards, as selected by a panel of industry experts. They will be available on the expo floor this month.
3. Gescan Electrical, a Canadian business-to-business (B2B) supply firm, is using Charlottetown-based ScreenScape’s software platform to power a new digital signage network at its retail locations across the country.
4. Johnny Shell, vice-president (VP) of technical services for the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA), is chairing the American Society for Testing and Materials’ (ASTM’s) new printing inks task group.
5. Global shipments of connected digital signage displays will experience a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.7 per cent over the next four years to total 22.9 million in 2021, according to a new research report from Berg Insight.
