5 things to know
Here’s your quick morning update on news in the sign industry:
1. The International Sign Association’s (ISA’s) third annual Sign Manufacturing Day, which took place on October 2, drew much greater Canadian involvement than previous years, with seven companies taking part instead of one.
2. Montreal-based X2O Media’s visual communications software is driving a new digital signage network for the Union-Pearson (UP) Express train service in Toronto, which was launched this summer in time for the Pan Am Games.
3. Bob Mattatall, president and CEO of Mattatall Signs in Dartmouth, N.S., won the Sign Association of Canada’s (SAC’s) 2015 Most Outstanding Industry Contributor Award during the 30th annual CONSAC trade show and conference.
4. Shipments of large-format printers increased worldwide by 1.3 per cent in the second quarter of 2015 over the same period in the previous year, according to new data from International Data Corporation (IDC), while revenue remained flat.
5. Swiss watchmaker Hublot recently unveiled the official countdown clock for the 2018 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup in Russia. The structure is installed on Manezhaya Square in the centre of Moscow.
