1. 3M Canada’s Extreme Wrap Challenge culminated in a contest between three finalists on September 23. Cameron Blancher of Unique Media Solutions came in first, followed by Wrap Ton Char’s Dan Desroches in second and Evil Kitty Graphics’ Ben Bieber in third.
2. Under a new eight-year indoor advertising contract with Astral Out-of-Home, Ottawa MacDonald-Cartier International Airport will reportedly become Canada’s first airport with 100 per cent digital out-of-home (DOOH) signage structures.
3. Global shipments of networked digital signage displays grew by 21 per cent to 7.3 million units last year and will experience a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.7 per cent for the next few years, according to a new research report from Berg Insight.
4. In British Columbia, the provincial government is helping develop new signage requirements for the organic fruit and vegetable industry, which are expected to come into effect in 2018.
5. Aulward Graphics, a lithographic, digital and large-format printing company in Hamilton, has purchased and installed an Agfa Graphics Anapurna M2540 FB printer and an Esko Kongsberg digital cutting table.
