Here’s your quick morning update on news in the sign industry;

1 ‘The Sea Keeper,’ a 196.2-m2 (2,112-sf) mural painted by street artists earlier this year on the CSL St-Laurent bulk carrier in Montreal, has been nominated for the 2017 International Corporate Art Awards.

2. Loki Box Design brought ‘mobile architecture’ to the forefront of out-of-home (OOH) advertising earlier this month with non-traditional structures made from shipping containers to promote Bell and L’Oreal at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

3. GBLK Enterprises recently wrapped the parkade at the Forks in downtown Winnipeg with colourful graphics to help generate local excitement for the Canada Summer Games, which were held in the city from July 28 to Aug. 13, 2017. (Sept. 21 web feature)

4. On Sept. 2, Compagnia Finzi Pasca’s Montreal Avudo, a nighttime outdoor digital projection show celebrating Montreal’s 375th birthday, came to an end after 149 performances, with nearly 250,000 people having seen it for free since it opened in mid-May.

5. The Canadian Out-of-Home Measurement Bureau (COMB) has named the members of its new board of directors for 2017 and 2018, which include both returning and new representatives of the out-of-home (OOH) advertising industry.
