Astral, a division of Bell Media, has launched a new digital transit shelter advertising network in Victoria, B.C., adding 30 digital advertising faces along key commuter corridors.

Developed in partnership with the City of Victoria, the network marks Astral’s first fully digital street furniture program. Twenty-eight screens were operational as of October 27, with the remaining launched in early November.

The agreement also includes 48 new transit shelters without advertising, scheduled for installation throughout November and December. Two of the shelters will feature living green roofs.

The network will provide advertising opportunities for local and national brands, alongside dedicated space for municipal communications. The reverse side of each digital advertising unit will be reserved for static City of Victoria information.

The launch expands Astral’s digital out-of-home (DOOH) presence in British Columbia while supporting the city’s transit shelter infrastructure.

“The launch of this network represents an exciting milestone for Astral and the evolution of our out-of-home business,” said Michele Erskine, vice-president, Out of Home, Bell Media. “As our first fully digital street furniture program, it expands our digital footprint in a growing market while delivering greater flexibility and impact for advertisers. At the same time, we’re also helping support infrastructure investments that will benefit the community for years to come.”
