Sixteen Mile Sports Complex has received a dynamic, new ceiling mural.
To create the graphic—which was printed and installed by Branded Wraps—the team used 0.00008-m (0.0003-ft) polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film with a high-quality, solvent acrylic adhesive in addition to Drytac’s Interlam Pro overlaminate film with matte finish. Pairing these two products enabled an easy installation with durability against ultraviolet (UV) light, weather, and temperature changes.
Sean Jeffreys, owner and president of Branded Wraps, has been in the graphics sector since 1990 and is a specialist in vehicle coverings and lettering.
“The facility is a place for sports enthusiasts and deserved an entrance that showed it,” said Jeffreys. “We had already wrapped some of the exterior windows for the arena and for one of their tenants, Skate Oakville, who also have the walls surrounding its customer service desk area wrapped. Our clients have seen the results from having interior murals—how it draws attention to their business in a busy arena like this one. They wanted a durable indoor product which would bring the entrance to a new level,” said Jeffreys. “A large ceiling mural is not something one would install with an overly aggressive adhesive, soft, or floppy vinyl. It was a challenging project but a definite success.”
