VENDO Media Inc. has acquired 100 per cent of the shares of Canada Billboards, a company that operates six digital outdoor billboard faces in Kingston and Windsor, Ont., and holds a pipeline of leased and permitted sites for future development, including locations on federal land across key Canadian regions.

The transaction strengthens VENDO’s presence in Ontario and supports its plans to expand nationally.

“Our continued focus on enhancing our platform value for advertisers was a key determinant for this share acquisition,” said James McDonnell, CEO of VENDO. “We intend to fully build the growth pipeline in addition to successfully operating the existing asset base.”

Canada Billboards’ founder and former CEO, Shannon Conheady, described the deal as a natural progression after years of collaboration. “The move ensures our customers and real estate partners will continue to be supported with greater resources, broader capabilities, and long-term stability,” said Conheady. “I’m confident they’re the right partner to carry our mission forward.”

Mathew Burpee, former CFO of Canada Billboards, added that the company had outgrown its previous scale. “Eventually, we grew to a stage where we needed additional scale and capital to continue our trajectory,” said Burpee. “VENDO was the obvious choice… due to their ability to execute on our pipeline of opportunities and grow across all of Canada.”

McDonnell noted that the acquisition enhances VENDO’s secondary market presence in Ontario and will support further development efforts in British Columbia. He also referenced the company’s earlier acquisition of 902 Sign Group in Atlantic Canada as part of its broader expansion strategy.

“VENDO continues to focus resources on developing a strategically positioned network,” he said.
