Tourism Vancouver welcomes visitors with digital signage
Following renovations, Tourism Vancouver’s flagship visitor centre now showcases a range of digital signage, including a 3 x 3-screen video wall, a 6.7-m (22-ft) long video presentation array and touch-screen kiosks.
The project was handled by Vancouver-based 10net Managed Solutions, using Scala digital signage software from Toronto-based Dot2Dot Communications to manage on-screen content.
“From proposal to installation in less than 60 days, our team created dynamic content, used custom-fabricated brackets and wrote several unique Scala scripts,” says Trevor Nuttall, partner in network services for 10net.
The project also involved a custom-built nine-output media player to run high-definition (HD) content on the video wall and a six-output player for the horizontal array of liquid crystal displays (LCDs).
“10net’s expertise and insight have made all of the difference with executing this project,” says Ted Lee, chief financial officer (CFO) and vice-president (VP) for Experience Vancouver, part of Tourism Vancouver. “The visual communications, audio and overall experience generated in the new centre are something for all British Columbians to be proud of, for sure.”
