Subway digital sign film festival hits the road

tuff1The eighth annual Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF) began on September 5, displaying one-minute silent films on digital signage networks in the city and across Canada, and will continue until September 15.

The festival is well-known for reaching local commuters through Pattison Onestop’s digital signs mounted above Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) subway station platforms, but has since expanded into shopping malls, onto a downtown Toronto video billboards, online and even to Calgary International Airport.

“We’re now taking TUFF on the road,” says Sharon Switzer, executive director. “Travellers and shoppers across Canada have the opportunity to enjoy a few minutes of unique entertainment while they’re on the go.”

Meanwhile, for the first time, all platforms screens at the TTC’s St. Andrew station will feature TUFF exclusively, without interruption by news or ads for the length of the festival.
