Sheridan College unveils capital identity

As part of its plan to become a university, Sheridan College in Oakville, Ont., has unveiled a new outdoor art installation reflecting an overall brand makeover, including a new visual identity and website design.
Sculpted by alumnus Pierre Poussin (pictured), who graduated from Sheridan’s furniture craft and design program in 2006, the giant letter S uses a new colour palette that builds upon the school’s ‘double blue’ with a secondary orange tone for a warmer accent.
Poussin has contributed to many large-scale public art projects for high-profile clients, including Walt Disney, the city of Vancouver and the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, Hamilton’s McMaster University, the Peace Bridge Authority of Fort Erie and Buffalo, N.Y., and New Jersey’s Princeton University.
Sheridan’s aim is to become Ontario’s first university dedicated exclusively to undergraduate professional education, based on applied learning.
