Canada’s largest out-of-home (OOH) advertising company, Pattison Outdoor Advertising, installed a new 5000-series computer numerical control (CNC) router from MultiCam Canada at its shop to help expand in-house sign production capacity.

Headquartered in Mississauga, Ont., and with 23 offices across the country, Pattison creates a multitude of OOH signage, including billboards, ‘street furniture,’ transit posters, outdoor banners and indoor displays for shopping malls, hotels, airports and other venues.

The MultiCam 5000-series CNC router will help the company create many of these products more efficiently. With rigid all-steel plate frame construction and a moving gantry, it is designed for the high-speed, heavy-duty cutting of plastics, wood and non-ferrous metals. Configurable for a variety of cutting applications, the machine reportedly offers the sign industry’s widest range of standard table sizes and spindle configurations. A handheld keypad interface allows operators to set job parameters, perform system tests and download jobs from a remote computer.
