Rexall Brunswick preserves historic signage

Rexall has opened a flagship drugstore in Toronto’s Brunswick House (fondly referred to as ‘the Brunny’), restoring and integrating the former hotel, bar and music venue’s signage and event posters into the new layout and design.

The retailer worked with Toronto’s heritage preservation service to fully restore the building’s façade and decor, including chandeliers, tin ceilings and a keg barrel bar that now serves as the main checkout area. New wide-format graphics have also been added to the walls to showcase the Brunny’s history.

“We’re very proud to be part of the Harbord Village community and build on the facility’s legacy,” says Paul Dale, Rexall’s executive vice-president (EVP) of store operations.
