RealMotion will host two Live Design International (LDI) 2019 workshops this month that spotlight the art of developing interactive media experiences.
The company’s director, Geoffrey Platt, will participate in both sessions and will be joined in the second session by Uplight partner and principal designer, Michael Stiller.
“In two short years, generative media has moved from the periphery of the commercial AV (audiovisual) and lighting industry to the centre of every project that seeks to create an engaging and compelling human experience,” said Platt.
The first session titled ‘The Art of Developing Interactive Media Experiences,’ will take place on Nov.18 and 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Las Vegas Convention Center. Attendees who have a working knowledge of real-time content development and control protocols will enter a world filled with interactivity and generative media that explores some of the most innovative video technology.
The second workshop titled ‘Data Made Beautiful: From Ones & Zeroes to Pixels and Particles,’ will take place Nov. 22 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The session will explore how data scraping, algorithms, and artificial intelligence (AI) are driving digital art forms in the service of place making and the creation of compelling environments.
The session will conclude with a case study of ‘Sensing Change,’ an award-winning, sculptural facade installation in Chicago conceived and implemented by the experience designers from ESI Design and lighting designers at Uplight.
As one of the leading conference and tradeshow for live design professionals worldwide, LDI hosts more than 14,000 members of the production community, working in a wide range of international live and broadcast venues—festivals, corporate events, theatre, concerts, clubs, theme parks, and houses of worship.
