Ready for primetime

twinWhile celebrating its 30th anniversary, Toronto-based Prime Imaging has installed its second HP Scitex FB700 hybrid large-format press.

Established in 1983 within downtown Toronto’s graphic arts community, Prime has since moved to the east end of the city, where it continues to grow. The company focuses on large-format and commercial printing for a variety of corporate clients.

“All the projects produced on our first FB700 have been successful and our clients have been impressed by the quality,” says Scott Currie, owner and managing director. “Their requirements are getting more demanding, so we needed to ‘twin’ our existing hybrid press.”

The 2.5-m (8.2-ft) wide, ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) piezoelectric inkjet printer can reportedly produce up to 80 m2 (861 sf) of graphics per hour. It can process both rigid and flexible media.
