Turbo Images, a fleet graphics specialist headquartered in Saint-Georges, Que., has produced and installed a vehicle wrap for the Universal Women’s Network’s (UWN’s) 2021 Road Show.
This year, UWN, a global platform committed to promoting gender equality, is partnering with leaders in the transportation industry to drive change across Canada. The road show includes three trucks that will be travelling across North America to draw attention to gender equality, diversity, and inclusion.
The #SpotTheTruck campaign will draw attention to companies and individuals who SupportHER—champions of true diversity and inclusion. The show will be making stops in 10 cities across the country from September 9-24 and will culminate with the release of UWN’s 100 Women of Inspiration book, an initiative representing the voices of leaders from diverse industries.
The vehicle wrap features photos of inspiring female leaders, including Katy Campeau, the newly named general manager of Turbo Images’ Lettrapub division, who represent a variety of industries.
“We’re proud to be partnering with Turbo Images for this event,” said Monica Kretschmer, founder and CEO of Universal Womens Network and Women of Inspiration Awards. “Women are underrepresented across the transportation industry, making up just 3.5 per cent of truck drivers. What better way to engage this sector than through moving billboards on semi-trailer trucks driving across our roadways over the next nine months? This initiative enables companies to be visible champions of diversity and inclusion, and puts women front and centre to ensure they are seen, heard, and valued.”
“As a second-generation executive in our family business, my father always taught me the importance of putting our employees first,” said Turbo Images’ sales and marketing vice-president, Charles Veilleux. “He never said put men first; it was always about putting our employees first—no matter the gender or the race. Today, we are taking a stand for equality in gender and race so everyone can be put on the same pedestal. We know the graphics we have produced for the show will raise the bar and bring awareness to a situation that is too widely accepted as is, which is that the transport industry is a man’s world. By bringing our voices together, we can change this situation for the better.”
