Printing in the Xpress lane
Vinyl Xpress in Concord, Ont., has added a UJV-160 flatbed printer and JV-34-260 super-wide-format printer from Mimaki to its inventory, enabling the production of larger output.
Since 2001, Vinyl Xpress has specialized in banners, trade show displays and signage for businesses in Canada and beyond, including the Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC), Sears Canada and Levi’s. With the addition of the two Mimaki devices, the company has expanded its maximum printing width from 1.6 to 2.6 m (64 to 104 in.) for such applications as backlit posters, window graphics, vehicle wraps, decals, vinyl lettering and floor graphics.
“These machines are our latest efforts to better serve a growing clientele with unlimited options,” says Tal Kasimov, co-owner of Vinyl Xpress. “No matter the message, we’ve got the medium, tools and creativity to bring the client’s imagination to life.”
In particular, the UJV-160 is designed to print on a broad range of rigid and roll-to-roll media, including paper, vinyl, fabrics, magnetic substrates, wood, plastics, steel, carpets, glass and boat sails.
In recent years, the company has also installed a Soljet digital printer from Roland DGA and a flatbed vinyl application and lamination table from RollsRoller Enterprise.
