Meet Hugo, Huge Paper’s new AI support tool for printers

Huge Paper has launched Hugo, an AI-powered customer support assistant designed for printers, estimators, and designers. The platform allows users to compare substrates, check availability, and confirm press compatibility, while maintaining access to human support when needed.
Hugo began as an internal tool to streamline Huge Paper’s own customer service. By centralizing order tracking, inventory information, press compatibility data, and technical product knowledge, the system helped the team respond more quickly and accurately to client inquiries. Based on its internal success, Huge Paper decided to make Hugo available to customers.
The company built the tool to handle real-world print production requirements, including press specifications, substrate performance, and compatibility across digital and offset environments. Users can ask questions in plain language and receive clear responses without filling out forms or waiting for callbacks.
‘Better decisions faster’
“HUGO reflects how modern printers actually work,” said Jeff Tapping, president of Huge Paper. “They move fast, they juggle tight timelines, and they need confidence in the materials they’re running. HUGO helps them make better decisions faster, without losing the human support that sets Huge apart.”
Hugo is now live on HugePaper.com, where Huge Paper continues to test and refine the platform with customer feedback. Sign Media Canada asked Hugo how it assists the printing industry, and the chatbot said, “I assist the print industry by providing quick and accurate guidance on paper products, finishes, textures, and materials.” It continued by adding that it helps with the following: Product exploration, technical guidance, product recommendations, sample requests, troubleshooting, lead capture, sustainability guidance, and trend insights on Huge Paper. Huge Paper plans to add real-time estimating, live order and delivery tracking, and a directory of print and finishing partners to help users source local production options.
