Man of Steel

Clark Steel Design and Fabrication in Shedden, Ont., has installed a V-series computer numerical control (CNC) plasma cutting table from MultiCam Canada to add new in-house production capabilities and product offerings.
Owner Wayne Clark says he researched the entry-level CNC plasma system market thoroughly, evaluating various options in terms of machine construction, quality, price and maintenance requirements.
“You have to understand your needs and the machines’ capabilities,” he says. “This one is low-maintenance compared to other CNC machinery and very fast-working.”
Clark Steel specializes in creating steel signage and specialty metallic parts, seeking new ways to reduce job process time and remain as cost-efficient as possible.
“The plasma table is the fastest way to cut out parts,” says Clark. “This machine has definitely increased productivity for my business.”
The table also offers advanced machining and cutting capabilities compared to what Clark Steel was able to handle before.
“Many new doors have been opening up,” says Clark. “Customers come to me with ideas for different things they need made from metal. Now I can bring those custom ideas from a design on paper to the finished product.”
