ISA debuts AI assistant ‘Specs’ across three platforms

The International Sign Association (ISA) has launched Specs, an AI-powered knowledge assistant designed to provide sign industry professionals with direct access to information across its digital platforms.
Announced in February, in Alexandria, Va., the tool integrates content from Signs.org, SignExpo.org, and SignResearch.org, allowing users to retrieve technical, industry, and event-related information without navigating multiple sites.
“Specs represents a major step forward in how ISA supports its members,” said Lori Anderson, president and CEO of ISA. “By giving users a smart, intuitive way to find answers across our platforms, we’re making it easier for professionals to stay informed, make decisions, and engage with ISA resources.”
The assistant can pull information from all three sources simultaneously, reducing the need for users to search each site individually. Human support remains available alongside the tool.

Sign Media Canada asked Specs, “What’s your favourite thing?”, to which it responded, “I don’t really have personal favorites the way people do, but I do have a soft spot for helping someone go from ‘I’m stuck’ to ‘ohhh, got it’—especially when it saves time or stress. If you tell me what you’re into (events, signs, business, design, fabrication, code, whatever), I can tailor recommendations.” It then went on to list ideas relating to the organization and the upcoming Expo, underscoring AI’s ability to answer questions and guide users efficiently to relevant resources. |
Specs is now accessible through ISA’s websites.
