Health Canada approves clinical digital signage kiosks

Health Canada’s medical devices bureau has licensed Stayhealthy’s self-serve health-screening and monitoring kiosks—specifically, HealthCenter models 650 and 650-C—for authorized use in the Canadian marketplace.

The clinical-grade kiosks (example pictured) combine technology for checking a user’s blood pressure, heart rate, total body weight, body mass index (BMI), total body composition and vision (i.e. colourblindness) with digital signage to display health education videos, messaging and relevant advertising.

“With Health Canada’s approval, final negotiations can proceed with several key prospective partnerships, which have been ongoing,” says John Collins, CEO of Stayhealthy, which has deployed kiosks in U.S. pharmacies, clinics, wellness centres and other facilities, following clearance by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). “We are pleased to expand our network into the Canadian market.
