CleanRiver Recycling Solutions, a division of Midpoint International in Aurora, Ont., has installed a new Anapurna Mw wide-format ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) inkjet printer from Agfa Graphics, with in-line white ink.

In business for more than 20 years, CleanRiver provides recycling and waste containers for businesses, organizations, colleges, universities, government buildings and military facilities, including the Pentagon in the U.S.

The company’s in-house graphic and design department handles labels and posters, including graphics printed directly onto the high-density polyethylene (HDPE) substrates used for its recycling stations, which are themselves completely recyclable at their end of use. Any scrap generated in-house is returned to suppliers, ensuring a virtually waste-free production cycle.

The piezoelectric Anapurna Mw is a ‘hybrid’ device, capable of printing on both rigid and roll-to-roll media. The in-line white ink is particularly useful when printing on darker substrates or when white is needed as a spot colour.
