Brian McNamara, a veteran executive of the International Sign Association (ISA), has been appointed to the board of directors for the Signage Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that conducts research and education relating to on-premise signs.

McNamara began his professional career with Xerox as a marketing representative and was recruited in 1985 to help ISA—then the National Electric Sign Association (NESA)—develop and grow its trade-show programs during the computerization and digitization of the sign industry.

When NESA became ISA in 1995, McNamara said he was gratified to see such technological changes recognized by the traditional electric sign industry. He eventually retired from his full-time role with ISA in 2011 after 26 years of service.

“The knowledge of the sign industry and the vast network of business relationships Brian brings to the Signage Foundation will be significant to the further development of our strategic collaborations,” says Ken Von Wald, chair of the foundation’s board.
