Dufferin Mall screens ask if you’d like fries with that phone

friesAdvertising agency Cossette recently unveiled a McDonald’s Canada game that connected smartphone users to interactive digital screens in Toronto’s Dufferin Mall to win a coupon for free medium fries.

The out-of-home (OOH) marketing campaign encouraged shoppers strolling through the mall to download and activate the game app. Two at a time, they could then swipe their screens to ‘collect’ fries from the digital signs. If they were able to fill their virtual fry boxes in 10 seconds, they received a limited-time digital coupon on their phones for the free fries at either of the mall’s two McDonald’s restaurants.

The project was handled by RadiantGroup, a Toronto-based interactive digital signage firm.
