On the heels of a major ice storm, out-of-home (OOH) advertising firm Pattison Outdoor has presented a new version of ‘#crazyweather,’ a Twitter-inspired video series for a digital billboard in downtown Toronto.

The billboard, located just north of Yonge-Dundas Square, will display the new programming until January 31, combining recent tweets about Toronto’s ice storm with earlier tweets about unexpected and extreme weather conditions elsewhere, juxtaposed with an image of Earth as seen from space. Cumulatively, the anecdotal messages highlight how climate change affects people’s lives around the world.

“This is the perfect project to show in such a large-scale public venue, as it speaks to a community of strangers on a relevant issue,” says Claire Sykes, curator with the Cape Farewell Foundation, which partnered with Pattison for the project.
