Dear City Canada returns to digital signs this summer
Pattison Outdoor Advertising and Spacing magazine are presenting the second annual Dear City Canada public art project, which shares Canadians’ tweets of urban pride on digital billboards and signs across the country.
This year’s project will run from July 14 to August 10, as part of Pattison’s ongoing Art In Transit program. Selected tweets submitted to @DearCityCanada by June 30 will be shared on digital billboards in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax, plus smaller screens in office buildings, shopping malls, residential complexes, transit systems and airports.
“Dear City Canada was such a success last year, we decided to bring it back and expand the project beyond billboards,” says Sharon Switzer, Pattison’s national arts programmer and curator. “I can’t wait for all those urban love letters to start coming in!”
