A FastSigns franchise in Burlington, Ont., recently installed an Esko Kongsberg XN24 cutting table to broaden its product offerings to clients.

Established in 1996, the Burlington location is reportedly the top revenue producer in the FastSigns system in Canada. Its production department uses three roll-to-roll (RTR) printers, one ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) flatbed printer, a thermal printer for spot-colour decals and a laser engraver. The XN24 is now allowing the business to more easily handle a wider range of substrates, including corrugated and solid boards, folding carton, wood and plastics.

“Prior to the XN24, we used a router that wasn’t able to cut through all of these materials,” says Diane Henderson, franchisee. “The table is also more efficient because we don’t spend a lot of time changing tools.”

Henderson says another reason for the acquisition was the table’s ArtiosCAD structural design software, which her staff is using to make boxes, tabletop merchandising displays and easel signs.
