The Canadian Printing Industries Association will host a webinar on May 6 examining how print businesses are managing environmental responsibilities amid economic pressure.

Titled Environmental Responsibility in a Time of Economic Instability, the session will run from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. EST and will bring together industry panelists to discuss the evolving sustainability landscape in the print sector.

Printers continue to face increasing regulatory requirements, rising operational costs, and heightened customer expectations around environmental performance, while broader economic uncertainty limits available resources.

The panelists will address common challenges and misconceptions related to sustainability and outline how companies can integrate environmental practices into business strategy. They will also examine how these efforts can support competitiveness, strengthen customer relationships, and contribute to long-term growth.

The webinar will emphasize practical approaches, including how to prioritize initiatives with measurable impact and manage costs while maintaining progress on environmental goals.

According to the event description, key focus areas include:

  • Understanding evolving environmental expectations from customers and regulators
  • Identifying sustainability initiatives that deliver both environmental and business value
  • Managing costs while maintaining progress on environmental goals
  • Turning responsible practices into a competitive advantage in a challenging economy
