Content flies higher for Halifax Airport’s digital signage

FIDS - June 2013 007The Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) has been transitioning its 150 digital signs to use Moxie software, developed by Omnivex in Concord, Ont., to communicate more effectively with passengers.

Working with 3D Datacomm, reportedly Atlantic Canada’s largest professional audiovisual (AV) integrator and a local Omnivex value-added reseller (VAR), HIAA replaced the display management system at Halifax Robert L. Stanfield International Airport throughout the summer.

Moxie was selected through a formal process to support HIAA’s control of displayed content, including flight, gate and baggage information, along with future plans to offer interactive wayfinding for travellers and internal communications for staff.

“We’re very excited about the possibilities,” says Mike Maxwell, HIAA’s director of business solutions and information technology (IT). “Moxie allows us to present any message on any screen at the airport, ensuring the best information is displayed for the travelling public and airport staff.”
