Montreal-based Newad has signed a major agreement with food-service franchisor Cara to install out-of-home (OOH) advertising posters and digital signs in more than 200 restaurants’ restrooms across Canada.

By the end of this year, Newad plans to place more than 400 digital boards (example pictured above) and 2,000 ‘classic’ static posters (below) in the majority of Cara’s Milestones, Kelsey’s and Montana’s Cookhouse locations, yielding a potential 2.5 million new impressions per week for OOH advertisers. Within five years’ time, Newad expects to operate 2,000 digital and 4,000 classic boards across the chains.

“We are very pleased to announce the signing of one of the biggest contracts in Newad’s history, on the eve of its 20th anniversary,” says Philippe Marchessault, Newad’s executive vice-president (EVP) of operations, development and innovation for indoor advertising.

Cara, which also owns Swiss Chalet and Harvey’s, merged in late 2013 with Prime Restaurants, which operates the East Side Mario’s, Casey’s, Pat and Mario’s, Fionn MacCool’s and Bier Markt chains.
