The Essential Image in Waterloo, Ont., has installed a Digital Express wide-format cutting machine from MultiCam Canada to complement its inventory of printing equipment.

Daniel Tuka founded The Essential Image more than 10 years ago to service the point-of-purchase (POP) graphics market. As the company grew, it garnered business in the commercial market, in addition to its existing retail customers.

Today, the company is located within Waterloo’s Laurelwood Shopping Centre and sells some consumer products, but its graphic production work has been refocused exclusively on commercial clients. Services include large-format printing, custom framing and plaque mounting.

The Digital Express is allowing the company to automate its entire finishing process, including the cutting of corrugated boards, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), aluminum composites and foam boards.
