On April 11, 2013, the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) will honour Robert Frederick Miller with the Harold C. Chapin Award, in recognition of his service to the organization.

An AATCC member since 1979, Miller (pictured) has served the not-for-profit textile industry association in various administrative functions, including local-level terms as chair, vice-chair, secretary, corporate and individual membership chair and technical committee chair. He currently sits on the association’s building and grounds committee, constitution and bylaws committee and strategic planning review committee and is one of the directors of the AATCC Foundation, which promotes the science of textile design, colouration, materials, processing and testing through research and education.

Miller will receive the Chapin Scroll at a luncheon during AATCC’s 2013 International Conference in Greenville, S.C.
