Wrap students driven to succeed
In late 2012, Avery Dennison Graphic Solutions certified 14 more graphic installers in Canada and the U.S. through a two-part test, including a written exam and a hands-on vehicle wrapping demonstration.
Co-sponsored by inkjet printer vendor Mutoh America, the classes were taught by well-known vehicle wrapper and Sign Media Canada contributor Justin Pate, using cast vinyl films and time-tested techniques.
The Canadian installers included Carlos Salazar of ASAP Signs and Zigis Tijunelis of Massive Impact Media & Signs in Calgary, Dave Metituk of Speedpro Signs in Grande Prairie, Alta., Denise Even of Signarama in Regina and Neil Robichaud of Graphiki in Ottawa.
“The graphic solutions team congratulates these installers on achieving certification,” says Paul Roba, technical manager at Avery Dennison. “We received unprecedented interest and attendance at our training events in 2012.”
Since the company launched the car wrap certification course in 2011, more than 70 installers across the continent have completed it. Certified installers receive a free listing on Avery Dennison’s online directory at www.carwraps.net, which reportedly sees thousands of small businesses and other customers visit each week to find reputable installers to wrap their vehicles.
