Tim Hortons plans digital signage expansion

Tim Hortons and Cineplex Digital Networks have officially announced national launch plans for ‘TimsTV,’ a dining-area digital signage network, following a successful pilot program in London, Ont.
With a nationwide rollout starting this month, the network will reach 2,200 existing locations and most new restaurants currently in development. Cineplex Digital Networks, which already operates Tim Hortons’ digital menu boards, will provide all of the necessary equipment, network management, maintenance and repair services to participating locations. In addition, Cineplex Media has announced it will sell ads on the in-restaurant channel.
“TimsTV will provide entertainment-focused content and community information,” says Glenn Hollis, Tim Hortons’ vice-president (VP) of brand strategy and customer experience. “Our guests have expressed interest in seeing more news, entertainment and weather and they are also very open to advertising.”
