Digital signage exec channels sales experience

Rick Bortles has joined NanoLumens, which manufactures flexible light-emitting diode-based (LED-based) digital signage displays, in a newly created position as vice-president (VP) of global channel sales.

Bortles (pictured) has nearly 30 years’ experience in senior sales and executive leadership in the technology industry, including 22 years as president and CEO of Elcom, a semiconductor sales and consulting firm. In his new role, he assumes responsibility for developing and implementing NanoLumens’ system integration sales, training and support programs around the world. He will report directly to Brad Childress, executive VP of sales and marketing.

“Our goal is to have a comprehensive channel program in place by the end of the third quarter,” Childress explains. “Rick is exactly the person we need to create a network of select commercial audiovisual (AV) integrators, value-added digital signage software partners and key AV consultants.”

One of Bortles’ first orders of business will be to meet NanoLumens’ partners and customers at the 2013 InfoComm show in June.
