PRINTING United Alliance shares industry updates ahead of Fall expo

PRINTING United Alliance issued several updates this May, including a new industry taxonomy, open registration for its 2025 Expo, and the launch of fresh iLEARNING+ training courses. These developments come ahead of the annual Expo, scheduled for this fall in Orlando, Fla.
Unified printing taxonomy released
The Alliance has launched the Unified Printing Taxonomy as a free resource to standardize how print-related products and services are classified across market segments. I.T. Strategies and Zwang & Co. developed the taxonomy with the Alliance. Manufacturers, associations, and the Alliance’s Taxonomy Advisory Board provided input.
The Alliance aims to create a common framework for describing technologies, improving data quality, and supporting global collaboration. The Alliance has already integrated the taxonomy into its tools, including its membership directory and event resources.
Registration opens for PRINTING United Expo 2025
PRINTING United Expo 2025 will take place October 22–24 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Registration is now open at printingunited.com. More than 680 exhibitors have already confirmed participation, occupying nearly 32,980.5 m² (355,000 sf) of show floor space.
This year’s event will feature equipment demonstrations, product launches, and educational sessions for professionals across commercial, apparel, wide-format, packaging, and industrial printing sectors. The show will also host several networking events, including the Women in Print Alliance luncheon, Student Day, and evening gatherings at local venues.
New courses and resources
The Alliance also announced new and updated iLEARNING+ training courses for Spring 2025. Topics include dye sublimation, screen making, customer service, and using artificial intelligence (AI) in colour management. The Alliance has also updated courses on colour fundamentals and customer service. The organization has released a new white paper on G7+, the latest evolution in print calibration, as a free resource.
Alliance members receive course discounts, while students and educators always have free access. Organizations may also license the content for internal training use. Users can find complete course listings and materials at ilearningplus.org.
