Billboards go for a curve

Ogilvy Paris recently used out-of-home (OOH) advertising formats in new ways, curving their printed substrates to help make life easier for city dwellers, as part of IBM’s ‘People for Smarter Cities’ campaign.

Each ‘smart’ outdoor ad featured IBM’s logo, slogan and stripes to indicate a secondary purpose. One of the ads, for example, added a ramp to a set of stairs (pictured above). Another provided a bench for passersby to sit on, while yet another offered shelter from rain.

The ads promoted a website where visitors could submit their own ideas for making cities better places to live.
